Overview
BPC-157 is a synthetic pentadecapeptide (15 amino acids) whose sequence is derived from a protein found in human gastric juice. Most published research originates from the Zagreb-based group of Sikiric and colleagues, which has characterized the peptide across a wide range of rodent models.
Research interest centers on tissue protection and accelerated healing, particularly of tendons, ligaments, muscle, and the gastrointestinal tract. Evidence is almost entirely preclinical; controlled human trials have not been published.
Mechanism
The peptide is stable in human gastric juice and has been reported to influence the nitric oxide system, promote angiogenesis, and modulate inflammatory and growth-factor responses in injured tissue; these actions are proposed to underlie accelerated healing in animal models.
A single unifying molecular target has not been conclusively identified, and much of the mechanistic picture rests on observations from the originating laboratory.
Dosing
No approved or validated dosing exists. In published animal work, the peptide is typically given systemically at microgram-per-kilogram doses over days to weeks.

Storage
Store lyophilized BPC-157 frozen (at or below -20 degrees C), desiccated, and protected from light. After reconstitution, refrigerate and use within the supplier's stated stability window, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw.
