NGF Analogs
Catalog heading for products claimed to mimic nerve growth factor; NGF is a large protein, and these analogs lack published identity.
Overview
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is a real, well-characterized neurotrophin protein that supports the survival and differentiation of specific neuronal populations and signals through the TrkA and p75 receptors. However, NGF is a large homodimeric protein, and small peptide products sold under an NGF Analogs heading do not correspond to compounds with published identities or clinical data. Such listings should be regarded as commercial categories whose neuroregenerative claims are unverified.
